problem solved

i good deal dremeling (thanks aron) and an engraved finger (ouch) the transformer lever now fits, i got interrupted by a torrential down pour and didn't make it as clean as i would have liked but my bars are now well and truly ready for a visit to the busy bike man complete with a purple frog for colour matching (thanks elle)
